Documents Required For Costa Rica Visa

1. Current Passport in original and fulfilling the following conditions

• Must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of planned arrival in Costa Rica.
• Must have a minimum of 2 pages.
• Munt no be damaged.

2. Previous canceled or expired passport if issued
3. Two photos not older than 6 months on a white background, without a border 35*45 mm size, face visibility 70 to 75% covering the photo frame
4. Visa form filled and signed by the applicant (for minor signature of parents or legal guardian required)
5. Covering letter (Visa Request letter) from the application addressed to “The General Consulate of Costa Rica in India”, including the following information:

• Applicant’s full name, nationality, passport number, type and validity & address, dates of place of birth.
• Purpose of the trip, expected time of stay in Costa Rica, approximate dates of arrival and departure, and expected ports of entry and exit.
• Current occupation and address in Costa Rica,
• Applicant’s email ID and mobile number.
• Company seal if the letter is on letterhead.

If traveling on behalf of a company, then the company will also need to provide a visa request letter with all the details mentioned above. A company seal is also needed on the letterhead.

6. Registration Certificate of Indian Company (if traveling on behalf of the Company)
7. Proof of social or professional status of the applicant like

• If self-employed then proof of ownership like a Registration Certificate of Company.
• If employed then a letter from the Employer along with the last 3 months’ salary slip

8. Proof of Accommodation for the entire duration of stay in Costa Rica
9. Documents from Costa Rica (if invited):-

• Letter of invitation addressed to the General Consulate of Costa Rica in India, including the following information: applicant’s full name, nationality passport number, type and validity address, purpose of the trip, expected time of stay in Costa Rica, approximate date of arrival and departure and expected ports of entry and exit, occupation, address in Costa Rica, date place and signature
• Copy of Inviter’s Passport, National ID, or residence permit.

10. Financial documents:

Personal Bank Statement for the last 6 months duly certified by a bank (mandatory)

If a company is responsible for expenses, then the company’s bank statement for the last 3 months duly certified by the bank can also be provided

11. Police clearance certificate duly apostilled from the Ministry of External Affairs and its official translation into Spanish
    (translation also duly apostilled from Ministry of External Affairs)
12. Clear Photocopies of all pages of all passports

• In the case of Minor Applicant:-
• If the applicant is a minor, he/she must present an affidavit with the signature of both parents, legalized by a Notary, stating that they will be responsible for all expenses and authorizing him/her to travel out of India and the Spanish Translation.
• The parent’s marriage certificate and a copy of both sides duly apostilled from the Ministry of External Affairs and its official translation into Spanish apostilled from the Ministry of External Affairs.
• Birth certificate of the minor and a copy of both duly apostilled from the Ministry of External Affairs, and its official translation into Spanish apostilled from the Ministry of External Affairs

Processing Time

Note: Visa once approved will be valid from the date of issue for 60 days to enter Costa Rica. The duration of stay will 30 days and single entry
